Dr. Reichel's grounded theory research resulted in the Mid-Career Professional Development Design Framework which is illustrated by the graphic to the right. The components and the guiding questions are found below.

Intentionally reminiscent of a clock, the surrounding outline illustrates the necessity to consider the construct of time when planning professional development for mid-career teachers. The timepiece silhouette frames the three key considerations: learning that is contextualized, interactive, and led with expertise. MPDD offers both a theoretical framework describing mid-career teachers’ professional development needs and the companion application questions.
